The Scenery (Liu Xia)

The Scenery (Liu Xia)
(translated by oswald)

1.
You said the mountain belongs to you
So you go and come at ease
The sutra streamers on it were blowing in the wind
With a mere tone repeating and echoing

You stroke them with your hand
The wind stopped to blow
The mountain looked at us attentively and peacefully
Under a cloudy sky of the night

2.
After a huge fire
No more trees could there be on this highland
The man who sat on the ground
Had his head fallen down to his knees
Not a single noise he could make

The sun was still shining bright
That black dog lingering leisurely
The girl up in the sky
Shed down a patch of cloud
Tenderly wrapped the dismal mountain up
No wind

3.
No idea where you came from
Seeing this piece of lake water
You lay yourself down
Hoping to make a dream then wake up
Your journey was still afar

Oh, your dream was long, very long
It was until a thousand years after
The green grass had become yellow and yellow become green
You still remained asleep
In your dream beard had come out from your face
In the arms of the lake's water
You had become a real man
Lives on the plain were still going on

In the thick clan pedigree at your old home
Your name had become unfamiliar
That which no one would be able to remember

With the blue sky and the white cloud you were facing
On and on you slept and slept for long long a time

4.
In front of this blue illusive lake
My eyes were blurred with tears
You quietly lit me a cigarette
We then watched attentively
The sea birds with their untrammelled flights

Sometimes you were so reticent like an old man
But once, in a blink of eye
You lifted up a snow-white sheep skull
Smiling at me brightly and sunny
I foundd out that you were a child

Just like all men in the highland
You like drinking wine
You were so joyous happy when you drank
To such an extent I was obliged not to stop you
After the wine your speech would become smooth and flowing, but mad
When sometimes you might get a swollen face or a blue nose
And you would swear not to drink any more

In most of the time
We would remain silent
With just a lighted cigarette
Let that light and vague loneliness
Be with us and drown us

5.
The two Tibetan young men and you
Were sitting in the street corner's sweet tea-house again
Two cigarettes were lighted simultaneously in his hand
One was for you
None of you had said a word

At the big red square table
Four Khamish men were playing cards
Two little boys squatted on the ground
Petting a kitten with utmost care
Inside the house a Tibetan woman was singing
Her voice was expansive and boundless

When your cups were emptied by the third round
Hailstones were falling down outside
He lighted two cigarettes again
You were distracted
By the hailstones which hit the ground causing the water to splash
You were fascinated
When until the two cigarettes
Burnt out in between his fingers
None of you had said a word

When you were standing together at the wet damp street
He made a loft on his shoulders
The tea was too sweet

6.
By twilight you began your trip round the lake
When you started off with your first step
You could feel the softness of the pasture under your feet
You knew nothing could be changed by now
You would not be overruled by anything
You began to be part of this piece of lake
And the lonely sky above the lake
And the lonesome bird in the sky it flew

When the two red horses
Standing in front of you
You were caught by their simplicity from their eyesight

While you were moving on with your journey
You were quiet as the lake aside you
Peaceful as the mountains around you
Mysterious as the lightless night
You were thinking of nothing

7.
That Tibetan old Mama
Once again brought along the hundred-year old sheep
And there quietly she sat

In front of Temple Jokhang
Two towerly tall sutra streamers
Had just stopped their turmoil
The insense coming up from the giant censer was pure and clear
Concentrated and looked firmly straight forwards
The people touched their heads to the ground deeply and continuously
Murmurings from their throats sounded almost like groanings
Dissolved totally into the fainted colours of the night
A few dogs in the midst of the praying
Fell asleep soundly

A bronz-haired young man
Leant himself against the red wall
From his thick note book, decently and seriously
Dropping down his feeling, vibrated and touched
His turquoise-blue eyes had become uncertain and lost

You were sitting in the middle of the square
Somewhat adrift and could not know what to do
The heart was vacant and empty
You knew you were sitting at the place already
With the prayer wheel in your hand
Keep on spinning
You did not have a wish

(1987/05-12)
(translated by oswald 2011/12-00)
Notes: I translated this early poem written by Liu Xia just want to show my deep thinking
of Liu Xiaobo and Liu Xia. From the poem one may aware how pure and innocent this
couple is. I hope I am not the only one who is with them. (2011/12/27-28)

Short Notes on The Two Oceans

I refer to The Art Exhibition by Edward Cheung and the guitar performance by Chow Kai Leung at Bauhaus Art House this evening, 23 Dec 2011.

I must say I have a calm and sweet evening with paintings, installations and music. What a coincidence they merge into each other perfectly well. Edward's works are actually like the waves of the ocean, one comes after another, and there are ripples in between. You got to look at it, look into it and look behind it. You even need to search it for there are so much which are hidden. There are so much to say and it allows you a big gap for free thinking. With the guitar music by Stephen, (his playing is super) it is again textured layers by layers (parts), It is much in harmony with Edward's installations that have brought me a new experience in arts appreciations. It has been long that I have had not such a nice time with music singing and travelling in the air so freely and boundlessly and also with the warm and sun-ray filled notes by the South American Guitars writers.

Bauhaus Art House is a good place for "Salon-Type" arts performances. I hope to see more to come.

Angels' Greeting

Every year this time
People are sending out
The same old greetings:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Do you find it boring?
Yes I do, it sounds too routine
What about we do it in this way:
Close your eyes
Thinking of the Agels in Heaven
They are singing you their message
You read it?
Yes, they all say:
Love and Peace

The sun has set
The winter has gone
The night has fallen
Spring will never come
Night will never dawn
It is eternity

We were fenced off
We were barred off
We were shut up
From the outside world
We were rare

Over The Rainbow

People are queuing up
Everywhere, anywhere
I am not queuing up
I am going home
My home is not far away
It is just over there
Over the Rainbow

Transparency

It's so quiet
It's so fake
I thought I was there
People were around
Moving, staying
I can hear them laughing
I can see them smiling
I thought I was there
It's so fake
It's so quiet

A Blessed Birthday - Liu Xiaobo

Christmas is always a joyful time for our world
But damn it, it is not for Liu Xiaobo
He will be having his 55th birthday this 28th December
But damn it, it is this China that detented him in prison for 11 years
So he would not be able to have a happy and free birthday
But damn it, it is all but for reason for freedom to speech that he is detented
But damn it
DAMN IT, CHINA!!!

In The Hospital

He cried and yelled loudly
The pain has tolerated him very much
He is now quiet
And humming a tune of the 40s
His voice has become softer and softer
Like the song, slowly and gradually
Fainted away
He's also away
To a place, I think
Quiet and peaceful
With no pain

When Love Comes to me ....

In The Bus

I went up a bus
My leg is so bad that I need a seat
Luckily I got one.

By the next stop
An old man boarded the bus
With a stick in his hand
and a leg worse than mine
He is so fragile that he needs a seat
Ther're young ones around, perhaps
They all have a bad leg
So in their seats firmly they stuck

There is no sign of empty seat, I know
Sadly and painfully I gave him mine

Remember Louis Armstrong Sings this:

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, saying "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Oh yeah!

Bye-bye, Steve Jobs (1955 - 2011)

It is a quiet and chill night
A sleepless 1:30 AM
The quietness is not the type one likes
for it is filled up with loneliness and farewell
When you can see people you know
Going away one by one
I know I am not too far away to join them
I am not afraid of going away
but sad being a failure in life

I was then at the bus terminus where the buses were all sleeping
So no work until the No. 8 is lowered.

I will pray for this young man
He caught in a traffic accident
He is still unconcious
He is the son of my friend's good friend
It sounds very far away in distance and relationship
But love has no boundary and limit
So for the philanthrophy I will pray for him
Pray for his speedy recovery
Pray for his good health
I will pray, pray and pray
Nam Mo All Lei Tor Fat
Nam Mo All Lei Tor Fat
A hundred times, a thousand times
Any time, anywhere
In my heart and by my month
Whenever I think of him or
He comes into my mind
In my house
In my garden
In my bathroom
In my bed.
Nam Mo All Lei Tor Fat

Peppet(屁股有黑班)

For the Cats

They are fishing, under the sun
They are not fishermen
They fish day and day round the year
They are heavily sun tanned
The harvest could be big, by hundreds - they are happy
And could be disgraceful, by zero - they are sad
I asked them why they fish
They said : for the cats
There are many
Along the river banks
They are waiting for their fishes, live or dead
Ah, they are happy, they are sad
For the cats

One of us, one of them

If you are one of them
Don't be upset, for
You're also one of us
Keep going
Keep moving
Be knid, be good and
Be responsible to this world
For you are one of us, though
You are one of them

A Given Gift

The leaf, has taken no resistance, fell off to the ground,
The wind,

Has it blown up again,
It has taken also no resistence and just sends out its sound "Sa Sa".

From its scraggy, shriveled body,
Love, seems stronger than when it was attached to the trunk.

Yes, I would not be dead,
It must also perhaps be, the gift given by these leaves.

Ancient

All my short-lived notions disappear in the straw hut totally
The ground there is made up of dirt

On the big wood burning stove
A pen of rice is being cooked

Two pieces of bean curbs stay at the bottom of the bowl
The rotten cabbages are covering at the top

These stinky and yet savory smells of the cabbages is perhaps the image of ancient China
All my short-lived notions disappear in these contradicting and uniting smells totally

The Deceased Looks into the Window Sadly

The deceased looks into the window sadly,
Home,
It is empty with nothing.

Papa,
I am being dragged by the engraved words on the tomb,
If I cannot recognize these words,
I would not be able to go home.

I look like a deserted temple
Dark, frightening.

And cessation can not be started,
Regrets could not become a system.

Papa is looking at the home sadly .....

Weary

It is raining hard outside
It rains into my "room"
The ceiling and wall near the window
Got sopped and become soft
I weary
I weary of my books, maybe
Damaged by the in-coming rain
I weary
I weary when the rain
Becomes harder
The wall may fall
I am not weary of myself
Being killed, for
In the past year
I have already had
A wonderful self
If it is me the time to go
It is fair
And, by the way
I love rain

You tell me be responsible for what I have done, so
The fault is all but on me
I ought to be a slave in body and in thinking

I ought to give up and sacrifice myself
I ought to be an obedient servant
I ought to say no "No", oh
I just want respect and dignity
That is very basic for a life
Othererwise is it a waste of
Being a living thing here

In Memory of Chopin - Thank you!

Hi,

The 5th Music/art performance was successfully completed this evening.

I want to thank all those who had attended this concert and specially all those who have taken part in the performance and I wish to apolgise for my very bad performance of the two pieces by Chopin.

The following are the performers ( in random order):

Chloe, Belle, Millie, Miu Chi, Tak Shing, Chris, 鴻飛, 錦紅*, 曉嵐, Kelly, Stephy, Fanny** and oswald.

* I apologise it was my fault to have missed addressing 錦紅 to the stage.
** Fanny left early so she also missed the performance.

Special thanks to my sisters Christine and Molly who catered and sponsor the party the snacks.

Also thanks must goto the daddies and Mummies who have taken their children to this concert and allowed them to take part in the performance.

Lastly, I must say thanks to Miu Chi and Richard who provided ground and facilites free of charge for our performance.

When the Traffic Light Turns Red

The pedestrian traffic light just turned green
We're crossing, she's also crossing
Pushing the wheels of her wheel chair, hard
We're halfway when the green light started to flash
I could see she's working hard on the wheels
There's only ten seconds for the the green to stay, and
It soon turned red, she's still pushing hard, her wheels
The cars were pressing close, perhaps
They want to obey the traffic lights, or
They thought it's their rights to pass
I knew I was stupid not to give her a helping hand
I passed over to her and got hold of the hand rails of the wheel chair
Pushing her quickily across the last quarter of our journey
We were safe at the pavement, and
She returned me many thankyous, in Putonghua
I am sorry that I was too Hongkong man, not
responding to her in the first instance

Devils and Angel

She said I lived on her rice
I was totally owned and held by her rights
She told me all around me were just devils and
I was too stupid not aware of, and
she's the only angel
Me to rely

We Were Soldiers

The fighting was fierce
The exchange of fire had come to an end
It had become dead quiet
I crippled carefully over to check
Yes, all were killed and dead
Yet there was one moved a bit
I kicked away his gun, he was dying
I knelt down and took him up in my arm
He opened his eyes slowly
With a fainted smile
Dropped dead
My enemy died in my arm

I have used the softest and the most softest way in the world,
Calling your name softly every night and every night.

I write your name.
I draw your name.
I dream of your name, illuminated.

As sun, as star, your name.
As light, as daimond, your name.
As thriving sparks, as lightning, your name.
As virgin forest in burning, your name

I carve your name!
I carve your name on a tree.
I carve your name on a long living immortal tree.
When the tree grows and becomes big and towering,
Ho ho! how good, how nice,
Your name has become large also.

Has become large, your name.
Illuminated, your name.
So, I softly softly softly softly softly softly softly call you by your name.

I Won't Complain

I close myself up
In a small cubicle of 60 sq ft
I open all the windows
The cool air can be felt
Accompanied by the smell of cooking food
Oily and sickly sweet
I pick out a piece of bread
A gift from my sis
To keep me away from hunger
People are talking and chatting downstairs
I can hear them clearly
There is privacy
As long as I keep the door not open
But you are not protected from disturbances
From noises and polluted air
And this is the way I have to live, I know
I won't complain
.

The Last Song

I'll sing you the last song
There's no tears
So don't cry
I've done what I should do
So really ther's nothing to feel bad
Don't cry
No tears
I'll sing you the last song

Lamma the Fog

A foggy night 25 years ago
The last ferry travelled to Yung Shu Wan then Suk Kwu Wan
She was moving dead slow
She kept on sounding her foghorn
We could see nothing around except the fog
We and the boat were totally in the fog
We were so quiet that I thought we were in another world
We trusted our boatmen who had brought us home safely always
When suudenly a slight jerk of the boat and she came to a halt
We are grounded, just a little bit, the sailor said, she(the boat) is ok
We will be alright
Everybody was surprisingly calm
We were in the hand of God
Let him decide our destiny
We all are humble persons of Lamma
Of course, all of us were home late

Note: Lamma means Lamma Island

A Winter in Boundlessly White

A begging old woman,
Just like a winter in boundlessly white,
Knelt before every passer-by,
Knelt down again, with her skinny hand stretched out.

"Oh! hungry, I'm hungry, I can eat a catty of rice in one meal,
In the night I searched the food remains from the rubbish dumps.
I came from the village to your city,
Because my son is timid, my daughter-in-law is fierce."

A begging old woman,
Just like a winter in boundlessly white,
Knelt before every passer-by,
Knelt down again, with her skinny hand stretched out ....

The Sky

I always lift my head
When walking in the street
Searching, searching
For the sky
It is now so concealed
by the tall rises
The sky I love
The sky gives me memory
Of all those poor but
Happy days

Cicadas

Summer is close at the door
The cicadas are coming
Their songs are long and penetrating
A good mark for nature
They are considerate
They don't sing any songs
After the sunfalls

Oliver: I am hungry, I want some more.
Landlord: I am not hungry but I want a lot more.

Summer Rain Comes Early

The rain has come early
The thunders are not too strong
Hardly any lightnings
The sky is still not too dark, actutally
It is rather bright
So it is a light performance.

I have longed to see heavy rain for months
I like their dramatic magnificient symphonic outputs
Perhaps it is still early Summer
Nature just sent us a prelude
Most people don't like rains
But I love it most
Rain, rain, rain
Welcome and happy to see you again!

Then looks at the blue sky.

He is dead for two years already.

I think he is dead already,

I thnik my papa is buried in the graves of our old home .....

薄澣我衣;

Evening

A down depressed day, I walked myself uphill,
I saw a little boy, sitting on the ground crying,
A few dots of mud stained on his red frozen face.
I held him in the arm, "Why are you crying?"

"Mummy is gone .....", he answered with his twisted eyebows,
"Where has she gone?" "Gone buying needles."
I put him down, walked myself uphill.
How nice it is, needles, child, mummy.....

The Birds in the Forest

In the forest,
Different kinds of birds,
Using different kinds of sounds:
"Ohr, Ohr"
"Cuckoo,Cuckoo"
".................."
Expressing the same thing:
"Leading a life in this way,
Oh, no,
Need to find out some way."
Listen and listen,
Just can't stop tears from falling down,
Because they and I
Are having the same kind of body and flesh,
The same painfulness,
Though in some moment,
I would laugh, I would speak, but
When I finished my laughing,
When I finished my speech,
This problem will come accordingly,
"Leading a life in this way,
Oh, no,
Need to find out some way."

The Grey Turtledoves

Just like a small piece of blood stained string,
Just like poor mother with her baby,
Just like the muddy spot on the window's glass panel,
These are the voices of the grey turtledoves of the forest.

The wind has become strong,
The surface of the lake is dusky, empty and boundless,
My life
Is going to come up.

Watching (by 楊鍵)

I remember Mum pulled by my ear to take me away from the pond.
During then,
I was watching a frog,
I started watching it from morning,
All the way till evening,
Dusk was falling,
It just didn't move a bit.
Mum said,
It didn't move,
What good are you looking at?
She didn't know,
I have been watching for a long time,
Before I could see this frog in the pond,
And I spent more time watching,
Before I come to know
Life is not only just me.
It was that I have spent long time watching,
Before I found out,
Leaves fell on its body,
It just didn't move a bit,
Fly landed on its body,
It just didn't move a bit,
And Mum pulled by my ear
Just wanted to drag me home.
After I am grown up
I come to know,
I was in this passed away structure of mankind
Watching the movements of a frog,
The motionless frog in my childhood deeply attracted me.

Performances

Hi dear friends,

Some friends have asked me about my music/art presentations which has become quiet for the past months. I am sorry for that. Actually I have plans in mind, but financially it is a problem. I will try my best to earn enough money to run these types of music and arts for YOU!

You are also welcome to write to me if you are performers of any type and giving me your suggestions and ideas.

All the best,

oswald

Say No

You see people passing by and away
They are your beloved ones and hateful ones
You can't stop them if they really need to go
And soon it will be you, can you say No?
.

Morning (by 楊鍵)

The precious sunlight pours in
As if someone lifts away the blanket, hers and mine
"Hey, what are you doing?"

And all of our life
Echoing
In the morning birds' cuckoo

This is the flowering dogwood tree.

In my writing I mean the Japanese movie picture Hanamizuki by 新垣結衣 and 生田斗真
(Chinese title is 花水木 - the name of the tree. )

In my writing I said : After 花水木, I mean after watching the movie 花水木.

I can see the road
I can see the trees and

Knut is dead

I am sorry to learn that Knut is dead on 19 March 2011

Hello from Chloe

Well, see this young lady Chloe, I am too happy
too receive this photo from her. She and her
younger sister Bell Bell were the DJs in one of
my music presentation in last Christmas. The
occasion is still very vivid and keeps on dancing
in my memory.

My Prayer - Miagi, Japan

1.
I can do nothing, I can only pray,
Death is not I'm afraid,
It's a fact all men must face.
2.
Gone, they are gone, just
In a swift of time,
In a twist of Nature.
3.
You can do nothing, you can make no bargain,
Stand firmly and calmly, you're brave,
Smile and welcome the fate.
4.
Death is not you're afraid,
It's a fact men must face,
Somewhere, some place. there we'd have better days.

Man and Heaven

Earth movements!
We had the south island of NZ
then the north island of Japan.
It is symmetric!
What if the Yangtze Kiang Three Gorges Dam?
We are building a time bomb for ourselves, and
A dam for Heavne to damn.

The Overlapping Image

Who is knocking at the door under the moon,
Watching the stones bloom their flowers.
The music player loisters at the corridor,
Making people's heart beating and touched.
Not knowing it is day or night.
The running water and the gold fish
Move and motion the directions of the time and light.

The sunflower is wounded,
Showing the way.
The blinds stand on
The imcomprehensible light.
Catching the anger.
The assassin and the moon
Going together, to a place far away.

Say, an English poem from the time of Shakespeare by Ben Johnson. Thank David who received this from Sylvia and sent it to me.

'To the Memory of My Beloved Master William Shakespeare, and What He Hath Left Us' by Ben Jonson

To draw no envy, SHAKSPEARE, on thy name,
Am I thus ample to thy book and fame ;
While I confess thy writings to be such,
As neither Man nor Muse can praise too much.
'Tis true, and all men's suffrage. But these ways
Were not the paths I meant unto thy praise ;
For seeliest ignorance on these may light,
Which, when it sounds at best, but echoes right ;
Or blind affection, which doth ne'er advance
The truth, but gropes, and urgeth all by chance ;
Or crafty malice might pretend this praise,
And think to ruin where it seemed to raise.
These are, as some infamous bawd or whore
Should praise a matron ; what could hurt her more ?
But thou art proof against them, and, indeed,
Above the ill fortune of them, or the need.
I therefore will begin: Soul of the age!
The applause ! delight ! the wonder of our stage!
My SHAKSPEARE rise ! I will not lodge thee by
Chaucer, or Spenser, or bid Beaumont lie
A little further, to make thee a room :
Thou art a monument without a tomb,
And art alive still while thy book doth live
And we have wits to read, and praise to give.
That I not mix thee so my brain excuses,
I mean with great, but disproportioned Muses :
For if I thought my judgment were of years,
I should commit thee surely with thy peers,
And tell how far thou didst our Lyly outshine,
Or sporting Kyd, or Marlowe's mighty line.
And though thou hadst small Latin and less Greek,
From thence to honour thee, I would not seek
For names : but call forth thund'ring Aeschylus,
Euripides, and Sophocles to us,
Pacuvius, Accius, him of Cordova dead,
To life again, to hear thy buskin tread
And shake a stage : or when thy socks were on,
Leave thee alone for the comparison
Of all that insolent Greece or haughty Rome
Sent forth, or since did from their ashes come.
Triumph, my Britain, thou hast one to show
To whom all Scenes of Europe homage owe.
He was not of an age, but for all time !
And all the Muses still were in their prime,
When, like Apollo, he came forth to warm
Our ears, or like a Mercury to charm !
Nature herself was proud of his designs,
And joyed to wear the dressing of his lines !
Which were so richly spun, and woven so fit,
As, since, she will vouchsafe no other wit.
The merry Greek, tart Aristophanes,
Neat Terence, witty Plautus, now not please ;
But antiquated and deserted lie,
As they were not of Nature's family.
Yet must I not give Nature all ; thy art,
My gentle Shakspeare, must enjoy a part.
For though the poet's matter nature be,
His art doth give the fashion : and, that he
Who casts to write a living line, must sweat,
(Such as thine are) and strike the second heat
Upon the Muses' anvil ; turn the same,
And himself with it, that he thinks to frame ;
Or for the laurel he may gain a scorn ;
For a good poet's made, as well as born.
And such wert thou ! Look how the father's face
Lives in his issue, even so the race
Of Shakspeare's mind and manners brightly shines
In his well torned and true filed lines;
In each of which he seems to shake a lance,
As brandisht at the eyes of ignorance.
Sweet Swan of Avon ! what a sight it were
To see thee in our waters yet appear,
And make those flights upon the banks of Thames,
That so did take Eliza, and our James !
But stay, I see thee in the hemisphere
Advanced, and made a constellation there !
Shine forth, thou Star of Poets, and with rage
Or influence, chide or cheer the drooping stage,
Which, since thy flight from hence, hath mourned like night,
And despairs day, but for thy volume's light.

I must also thank Martin who has made the following quotes for me when I asked him about Ben Johnson.

"This poem accompanies another by Ben Jonson at the start of the 1623 first folio of Shakespeare's plays.

Here is the other poem, which faces the famous portrait of WS in the folio. Jonson is saying that however clever the artist may have been in capturing the likeness of the face, no one could also imitate Shalespeare's wit. This is the perfect invitation to turn the page (the picture is on the right-hand page, the poem on the left), and to look, literally and metaphorically 'behind' the picture at the mind of the man, which is better represented by his words than any picture.

This is one of those poems which only makes sense in the context of its position on the page and its place in the book.

BJ was also a distinguished playwright, so he knew what he was talking about."

To the Reader.

This Figure, that thou here seest put,
It was for gentle Shakespeare cut,
Wherein the Graver had a strife
with Nature, to out-doo the life :
O, could he but have drawne his wit
As well in brasse, as he hath hit
His face ; the Print would then surpasse
All, that was ever writ in brasse.
But, since he cannot, Reader, looke
Not on his Picture, but his Booke.

6個月=10歲
1年=15歲
2年=25歲

Love

This is a forever subject --
Love
Remember, we have talked about astronomy, we have talked about geography.
Remember, you have asked me, and I have also asked you:
How high is the sky, how deep is the sea, how thick is the earth?
" You say? -- "
"And so you say?"
I hold up your hand to count the stars in the sky,
You hold my hand,
Checking the sea water under the moon, how the water current runs.
You said your friend has told you,
Love is painful. You said:
" We better be simple friends"
But, at that night, we just care not how high is the sky, how thick is the earth.
Walking from seafront to the busy downtown,
All the way just hand in hand without a noise.
This is a forever subject --
We are in love.

Thinking of Mei Mei 懷念二妹 by 詹冰

1.
Mei Mei has gone to heaven,
It is now that I understand
There is maiden goddess.

2.
"There are gold fishes swimming in the sky...."
Mei Mei was saying this and
slept then for ever.
You are a child poet!

3.
The sunset clouds are in the blue sky.
I have searched it secretly ----
if there are gold fishes
hanging on the spider's web.

4.
At the branch tip of the acacia,
Oh, my little star
Are you my Mei Mei?

(translated by oswald on 26 July 2010)

Das Denken an meine junge Schwester (by Tsim Bing)

1.
Mei Mei ist zum Himmel gegangen
Es ist, jetzt was ich verstehe
Es gibt da den Jungfrau-Göttin
2.
"Da sind Goldfische, die im Himmel schwimmen...."
Mei Mei hat das gesagt und
auf da was sie dann immer geschlafen
Du bist ein Kinderdichter!
3.
Die Abendlicht ist im Himmel.
Ich habe es heimlich gesucht -----
wenn es Goldfische gibt
das Abhängen vom Spinngewebe
4.
Am Zweigtipp der Akazie,
Oh, mein kleiner Stern
Sind Sie mein Mei Mei?

I sent Mummy a mail

Dear Mum,
It has been long that I have not sent you greetings.
To-day I am in an event that I have a chance to write to you.
I just want to tell you that you are always in my heart.
I remember your face, your smiles, your ways of caring others.
I supposed that are the most things I inherited from you,
I know the best way to thank you is to do what you were doing.
Mum, I am doing this and keep on doing this and
ask people to follow my way -- no, that is your way.
Thanks, Mum, I love you.
Love Big B
21 Aug., 2010

* My mum is now living in Heaven.

Come Home Late

1.
Ask, under the lonely street lamp in the deep night,
The old man who sells Kweilin rice noodles,
What time could you go home?

Ask, the drifting boats in between the river banks,
And that leaf of light raft
What kind of sadness from the river you are carrying?

2.
One day I will tell you, Mum,
I come back home late because I went far to the Mountain City,
Look, Mum please look,
What have I brought back?
A bottle of Li River's water, and the stars of the yesternight.

Nachhause Gekommen Spät

1.

Was habe ich zurückgebracht?

About Cats

On 4th Jan 2011 (年初二), a cat was found drown to death at the place near my workplace.

On 26th Jan 2011, I picked up a 2-week old kitten from a rubbish bin in a rubbish collecting point. She stopped crying and slept in my chest. She is now staying in a Cats Refugee Camp in Kam Tin, New Territories.

The two photos are the cats known as Ragdoll. Arn't they lovely?

Poor and Happy

I am poor, and
I am happy.
I am happy, and
I am poor.
Poor and happy,
Happy and poor,
That's me.

My shoe is broken

One of my only shoes is broken.
It lasts for only one month.
It costs me 50 dollars.
Buying another pair?
No, I got no money.
Take turns to use the un-broken one,
Or can I just buy one?
I see a dog,
Its feet are bare,
It needs no shoes,
It is more fortunate than me.

The Clear Mirror

At the midnight wine drinking,
The flame of truth went insane,
Thinking back,
Is there anyone who is homeless?
Why the windows are hanging high?

You are tired of dead,
The road is tired of live.
In that flame-red era,
People moved in nights and slept on days,
Chessing with the nationalism.

Not even that,
The people who dug your sleep,
Turned blue.
The morning tired of you,
The clear mirror tired of words.

Thinking a bit of love,
You looked like a warrior,
The mosy sky rocking and earth shaking is what
You spoke to yourself,
Too cold.

We

With the dispersed and lost soul,
Holding the lantern in hand chasing the going Spring.

The scars glitter, the cups whirl,
Lights are being created.
Look at that charming moment:
The robbers slip into the post office,
The letters are giving out their cries.

Nail! Oh nail,
This lyric cannot be altered,
The woodblocks are holding each other tightly,
Looking for audience.

Looking for the heart of Winter,
At the far end of the river,
The boatman is waiting for the boundless twilight.

Must be somebody re-writing the love affair.

February

The night is approaching its integrity,
I am drifting in the languages,
The perished musical instruments
Packed with ice.

Who is it at the crack of the day
Singing, water has become bitter,
Flame has lost its blood,
The mountain cat has sped to the stars.
There must be a formula,
When one dreams making can.

In the chilliness of a morning,
One awakened bird
Has come closer to the truth.
Whilst my poems and I
Are sinking down together.

In the book's February:
A certain motions and images.

This Day

The wind knows well what love is,
Summer day is glittering in royal colours,
The fishing man, in lone, is surveying
The wound of this earth.
The bell is sounding and bulking up.
The late noon strollers,
Please include into the significance of this age of the year.

Somebody is sitting at the piano,
Somebody is holding a ladder passing by.
Sleepiness has been delayed for a few minutes,
The sun is studying the shadows,
I drink my water from a clear mirror,
Seeing there my target enemies.

The tenor's singing
Agitated the big sea as the vessels do.
At early morning 3 AM I open a can,
Let those fishes shining off their brightness.

Improvisation

I come to this world just for once,
I have a beatiful stay with you,
You and you.
After I leave, I would soon be forgotten.
I am just a piece of music -
Improvised!

Loyalty

Don't switch on the light,
The door of sinister has drawn in the saints,
My hand knows the way well
Like an age-old key,
At the place of your heart,
Turns and opens your fate.

The month of March is outside the door drfiting.

A few sticks of bamboo are swaying,
Somebody is from the underground diving and swimming
The snow storm is over,
The butterflies assemble again.

I follow you like pilgrim,
You follow destiny.

A Troublesome Autumn

Sinking deeply into the murky candle,
Searching from the shale of knowledge for samples.
Lines of characters, after mating
Sleep soundly with culture until dawn.

The obstinate wheel, The abstentious snowman.
The finale of the earth;s chess game
Placed aside for years.
A rules evaded boy went across the border's river
To deliver a mail.
That is a poem, or an invitation of death.

The Apple and The Pigheaded Stone

The praying ceremonial of the big sea,
A bad weather bends its body.

The pigheaded stone is guarding vainly the month of May,
Resisting the green infectious disease.

The four seaons are taking turns in chopping the big trees,
Clusters of stars are seeking their ways.

The drunkard, by means of his balancing power,
Breaks away in the mid of time.

A bullet runs through the apple,
Life is adopted.

Other Than

The storm inside the jar is leading the big sea charging forward,
Other than the pier, on the drfting sleepless bed,
The embraced lovers received the chain of power.
Other than the picture's frame, the plaster cast, with a classical smile
Is speaking by shadows available within the day.
Other than belief, a fine horse overtakes extinction,
The moon keeps on sealing on the dingy occurences.
Other than the story, a plastic tree is swaying briefly in the wind,
The murky food provision is the excuse of our survival.

My message,

I love Music,
I love Arts,
I love Nature,
I love Animals,
I love anything that is natural, TRUE and not artificial.

TRUE, this thing is really tough,

So I find it hard to be accepted, by this world.
Nevertheless, I feel happy and content,
Though I feel hungry sometimes.

For the past two months, I am unable to put up any performances
because financially I am not capable.
I will not give up, please wait a little bit.

In oder to get and save money for my ideas, I need to work very hard.
And, to do some extra sales as follows.

I have organic strawberry (local) to sell. HK40 per box, about 12 pieces.
Actually it is almost running out of season.

My sister and sister-in-law are very good at making cakes. And they
promise me to make cakes for me to sell. So a 1.5 lb (approximately)
cream cake is at HK 350. You need to collect them at Jordan MTR.
They are really good products.

Call me 9428 2283 or email me so that I can arrange them for you.

Thank you.

The Absence

The gale marshals the enemy's flags,
An order Golden Star aired and spreaded everywhere,
Love and hate are biting the same apple,
The age on the ladder,
The dream of nation retrieval.
The hero raises his hand high and occupies the night sky,
The crown handstands on the bitumen inside the mirror,

I close the door of parole,
Rejecting all the future witnesses,
That is the moment I enjoy my prime dignity.
The risky flames,
The unfamililar ashes.
